The Land of Israel: Maps Tell the Story

A Factual History of the Land of Israel |
|
Maps from Stand With Us" The land of Israel/Palestine through the 20th Century. Note: Historically, "Palestine" has always referred to the land of the Jews. "Transjordan" is modern-day Jordan. It was established in 1946 by the British to appease the Arabs in return for oil. In September, 1922, the British, who controlled the Palestine Mandate, took 78% of the territory meant for a Jewish homeland and awarded it to the Arabs -- thus separating it. The Jewish people were then left with just 22% of the land. This is the area the Arabs are disputing today. |
Yes, Arabs want that land. But when they controlled that land previously, they used it to launch attacks against Israel. Legally, the "Palestinians" have no right to this land. When the Arabs were offered this area in 1948, they said "no" and instead chose to make war against the Jews and Israel.
The "Palestinians" are demanding a country of their own, yet they have not stopped calling for Israel's destruction. There are terror attempts daily.
Mahmoud Abbas (also known as Abu Mazen - his war name) is the president of the Palestinian Authority. He is also the head of an organization called Fatah. Fatah is the largest organization within the PLO. The Fatah constitution still calls for the destruction of Israel. The Hamas covenant also calls for the destruction of Israel. Neither Fatah nor Hamas (nor their leaders) have renounced their covenant or charter. Neither group has expressed a sincere desire to live in peace with the Jewish state of Israel. Their media, schools and mosques still teach and preach hatred and violence against Jews and Israel
Many Israelis have gotten away from their religion and are unfamiliar with the history of their people and do not realize their connection to all of these lands. Faced with endless wars and terrorism since Israel was re-established in 1948, the people of Israel are so tired of these wars and being the victim of terror attacks that they are willing to do anything if they are led to believe it will enable them to finally have peace - including giving away some of the most sacred places in Judaism and Jewish history. The lands of Judea and Samaria (which the media and most people refer to by the term "West Bank") are rightful Israeli territory. Jerusalem must remain the undivided capital of Israel. Jerusalem is the most holy place to Jews and has been for thousands of years. Jews face Jerusalem to pray. Muslims pray toward Mecca.
These lands were promised to the Jewish people by God according to the Bible.
These lands were given to the Jewish people to re-establish their homeland by the British government, which controlled these areas prior to 1948. This was approved by the League of Nations, forerunner of the U.N., and by international treaty (San Remo Conference).
These lands were won by Israel during a 1967 war that began after Israel responded to an act of war by Egypt and subsequent attacks by the surrounding Arab armies.
There is no reason to believe or trust the Arabs when they now claim there will be peace if tiny Israel gives up even more territory. The "Palestinians" have used Gaza - which Israel gave them in 2005 - to launch thousands of deadly rockets into Israel.

Israel cannot and should not give up land to create another terrorist nation. It is wrong when Israeli leaders offer to and wrong when President Obama demands it.
